Dr. Sumanta Sahoo

Dr. Sahoo works as an Assistant Professor in the School of Chemical Engineering, at Yeungnam University, South Korea. Before joining the current institute, he also worked in various institutes like the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (Postdoctoral Fellow: 2013-2014), Yeungnam University (Research Professor: 2015-2017), Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) Dhanbad (National Postdoctoral Fellow: 2018- 2019), and the Madanapalle Institute of Technology & Science (2019-2021). His main research work is the synthesis of graphene through different synthetic routes, fabrication of supercapacitor electrodes based on graphene, conducting polymers, mixed metal oxides etc., synthesis of ternary nanohydrids through hydrothermal route, fabrication of binder-free supercapacitor electrodes and MXene-based asymmetric supercapacitor devices. He has published more than 100 research/review articles, 4 book chapters, and edited 3 books. He published articles in many reputed journals like Materials Science and Engineering: R, Advanced Functional Materials, Nano-Micro Letters, Progress in Energy & Combustion Science, Materials Today, Energy Storage Materials, ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, Journal of Materials Chemistry A, Chemical Engineering Journal, Chemical Communications, Coordination Chemistry Reviews, etc. He has been recognized as the Top 2 % scientist in the world in 2021, 2023, and 2024 based on the Stanford List ranking.
